What to Wear to RootsTech
All right folks, it's official! RootsTech is right around the corner! We are so excited that so many of you have decided to join us in celebrating 10 years of RootsTech! Many of you have been with us before, but some of you haven't, so here is a refresher course in what to wear at RootsTech.
Ok, this is a no brainer: We want to see your RootsTech swag! We've been doing this for 10 years, and not to brag, but we have had some really awesome swag options in the past and will have more to come. So, dig out those old T-shirts and wear them around, share a picture on social media, tag us, and you could be featured on our social media! Bring those old shirts with you to SLC and you could win a prize if we catch you at RootsTech!
And don't forget–If you don't already have some RootsTech swag, you can stop by our store in the Expo Hall. Here is a sneak peek of some of the shirts you will see this year:
Layer, Layer, Layer!
We cannot emphasize this enough. Weather in Utah is as unpredictable as it comes; at the end of February we could see rain, sunshine, or a few feet of snow. So bring layers! Controlling the ambient temperature in a building as big as the Salt Palace is a tremendous feat, and while our team and the team at the Salt Palace work hard to make sure it is comfortable for everyone, we acknowledge that some classrooms may be chillier than others, and some may be warmer. Make sure you bring light layers to help balance yourself out.
Okay, okay, okay, we know we sound like a broken record here because we mention this every year, but we really cannot emphasize this one enough. WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES! There, we said it. The Salt Palace is HUGE, and you will do a lot of walking. Make sure whatever shoes you wear are comfortable and well broken in so you can avoid blisters. If you do develop blisters, however, know that we are bringing back the RootsCrew! With one message through the RootsTech app or a tag on social media, we will bring you what you need to get back on your feet.
A Few Other Things to Bring
This is less of what to wear and more of a general tips section. There is no need to bring a bag! We will have some awesome backpacks waiting for you when you arrive. Do, however, make sure you bring any charging cords, portable power banks, note-taking devices (yes, including pen and paper for you old-school people), a refillable water bottle, and some snacks!
